Qualified, registered, regulated

So you know exactly who you're working with. My full training, professional registrations, and specialist accreditations are set out below, along with how to verify them yourself.

Jessica Fonteneau, Registered Nutritional Therapist and eczema specialist - white woman with long, mid-brown hair, smiling, wearing a blue top and peeling melon.

Qualifications

MSc, Transdisciplinary Practice — Middlesex University.

My dissertation examined how nutrition may be used as a complementary tool for chronic eczema and dermatitis support, which is the exact question this practice is built around.

DipIoN — Diploma from the Institute for Optimum Nutrition

One of the UK's established nutritional therapy training providers.

I retrained as a Registered Nutritional Therapist after nutritional therapy changed my own eczema, having lived with it since I was six months old. I wanted to understand the science properly, not just what had worked for me, but why, and how to apply it reliably for other people.

Professional Registrations

  • mBANT — Member of the British Association for Nutrition and Lifestyle Medicine, the professional body for registered nutritional therapists in the UK.
  • CNHC — Registered with the Complementary and Natural Healthcare Council, the UK regulator holding the government-approved register for the profession.
  • Director of BANT — I serve on the board of BANT, contributing to the standards and direction of the profession.
  • Member, British Society for Integrative Oncology (BSIO) — the UK professional society for practitioners working in integrative cancer care.

Being CNHC-registered means I work to a set standard of training, ethics, and professional conduct. You can confirm my registration on both registers directly (links below).

SPECIALIST ACCREDITATIONS

  • Oncology and nutrigenomics — listed on the BANT register. I'm on the BANT register to practise in oncology, nutrition support for clients who have eczema alongside a cancer diagnosis or a history of cancer, and in nutrigenomics, the study of how your genetic variants influence the way your body processes nutrients.
  • Eating Disorder Support — specialist training in progress. This will be available as a dedicated service shortly, for clients whose eczema is entangled with a difficult relationship with food.

CLINICAL ROLES

Alongside my own practice, I'm the nutritional therapist at Mosaic Medical, a doctor-led integrative clinic, and the only one on their team. I see their patients across a wide range of conditions, including the clinic's breast cancer service, working alongside their doctors and specialists.

It's the same principle I bring to every client, nutritional therapy as part of the team around you, not apart from it.

As heard on

The Mosaic Medical podcast — Piecing Together the Fragments of Your Health Episode 2: Personalised Nutrition & Nutrigenomics.

I join host Dr Camilla Stokholm to talk through nutrigenomic testing, the cheek-swab DNA test that shows how your genes influence everything from histamine clearance to hormone pathways and nutrient absorption, and how we use it within Mosaic's Breast Cancer Service.
